Lesson 3 of 8 · 3 min

Pending payment, holds and receipts

How a booking holds its spaces while the money's on its way, and how you confirm a transfer.

  1. Settings → Payments → Hold window (hours)

A booking that owes money up front is Pending payment. Paid by bank transfer, your payment link or card, it holds its spaces while the money's on its way, for your Hold window: 48 hours unless you change it. Pay at the venue never lapses; it waits until you record the money or cancel.
  2. A late booking

A hold never runs past 2 hours before the start, so a late no-payer can't keep the spaces. Book even later than that and they still get 2 hours. When it runs out, the booking is Lapsed and the spaces go back on sale.
  3. What the customer sees

Customers paying by transfer or your payment link attach their receipt, a screenshot or PDF up to 4MB. While it waits for you, the hold pauses, so it can't lapse under them. That's "A proof pauses the hold" in Settings → Policies, on unless you switch it off.
  4. Open the booking (or the job on your To do), look at the proof, and check your bank. Then press Confirm and enter the amount received, or Reject with a reason. The customer is told either way.
  5. Need to give someone longer? Press +24h on the booking, or Give 24h more on the To do list, which shows once their hold has less than a day left.
